State Fair of Louisiana Accounts New Pro Rodeo Contract for 2014

September 22, 2014

SHREVEPORT, La. – The State Fair of Louisiana is proud to announce that Jerry Nelson’s Frontier Rodeo Company will be producing the Pro Rodeo for the upcoming 2014 State Fair on October 31st and November 1st in Hirsch Memorial Coliseum. Frontier Rodeo Company is managed by 8‐Time PRCA World Champion Bullrider, Don Gay, and has been providing award winning horses and top quality broncs for rodeos all over the United States for the past 15 years. In 2011, rodeo history was made when Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association (PRCA) awarded both the Saddle Bronc and Bareback Horse of the Year Award to the same company which was Frontier Rodeo Company. In 2013, Mr. Nelson’s company made history again by capturing both of these honors a second time.

Jerry Nelson is no stranger to the area. In 2013, Mr. Nelson brought his Championship basketball team to the area and made Hirsch Memorial Coliseum their new home, The Shreveport‐Bossier Mavericks. They proved to be a well organized, quality operation as well as great asset to the Fairgrounds and Northwest Louisiana. During their first year in Shreveport, the Mavericks made the area proud by winning an ABA National Championship.

We have no doubt that the commitment Mr. Nelson has shown to our city combined with the reputation of his rodeo company will make Frontier Rodeo Company a perfect fit for the State Fair of Louisiana for years to come.
